R.V. Anderson Associates Limited designed this facility to provide the required fire flows and to balance the water storage for the City’s Pressure District 2.
The site conditions and area available for this facility dictated an uncharacteristic trapezoidal shape for the two-celled inground reservoir located adjacent to Hwy. 403. The total storage volume available is 12400 m³.
The pumping station features four horizontal centrifugal pumps, each with capacity of 210 L/s @ 48 m TDH complete with vacuum priming system and is also equipped with a standby diesel generator.
A 500 mm diameter concrete pressure pipe discharge main supplies water to the distribution network. A separate but related contract to this project included construction of 5 km of 600 mm and 750 mm diameter supply trunk water main.
