R.V. Anderson Associates Limited in JV with a U.K. firm was responsible for the preparation of a Sewerage Master Plan for MCBM for period 2002-2005.

• Data collection and review of all recent studies and projects being implemented
• Reviewing of regional aspects and initiatives being taken by other agencies which will have an impact on Mumbai Region.
• Population assessment and future projections.
• Assessment of Water Supply, consumption (domestic and non-domestic) and impact on wastewater flows.
• Sewer Flow measurement surveys to estimate the current total wastewater flows being generated in Mumbai including measurement of flows in storm drains and assessment of infiltration.
• Preparation, customization of computer hydraulic model for modelling and predicting future flows, diurnal flow patterns for sizing new facilities.
• Wastewater sampling and treatability studies.
• Preparation, customization and updating of GIS Arc-Info Maps, surveying and locating related infrastructure on these maps and conducting GPS surveys.
• Pump efficiency testing at various Sewage pumping stations to identify opportunities for savings.

scope of work:
The master plan will cater to the needs of Mumbai until year 2025 with an estimated population of nearly 17 million people and a total sewage flow of nearly 2700 mld.
