location: Bradford, Ontario
project description:
R.V. Anderson Associates Limited was retained by Traugott Construction (Kitchener Ltd.) for the site servicing, site grading, stormwater management for the Bradford IGA, as well as several other IGA Grocery Stores in Southern Ontario. This assignment included the review of infrastructure availability and stormwater management options. Sanitary servicing and water supply were secured from the existing municipal systems. As the downstream landowner (a competing grocery store chain) refused to accept any increase in drainage, an innovative approach to stormwater quantity and quality control was incorporated which allowed the project to proceed. A permit for the drainage system was secured from the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority. Retaining walls were utilized to maximize site use and roadside visibility.
project status:
Innovative solutions to stormwater management allowed the project to proceed despite downstream concerns of adjacent property owners. This design-build project was expedited to ensure the target date for the store opening was achieved. |
