Mount Joy Go Station
MOUNT JOY GO STATION
client: Greater Toronto Transit Authority (GO Transit)
location: Markham, Ontario
project description:
R.V. Anderson Associates Limited (RVA) provided engineering services for all aspects of this project, from preliminary planning, detail design, and acquiring approvals, to services during construction. The new rail station is on GO Transit's Stouffville Line and was planned as a result of recent growth demands for increased ridership within northeast Markham. The station provides rail and bus service to Union Station, other destinations serviced by GO Transit system within the Greater Toronto Area, as well as connections to the York Region Transit System. The station facility consists of a 150 square metre heritage-style station building, 480 car parking lot, Kiss 'N' Ride drop-off, bus loop entrance into the site, and a 275 metre long rail platform. RVA was responsible for site planning, stormwater management, architectural, structural and mechanical designs, contract administration and site review during construction. Our sub-consultant, Moon Matz Limited, performed electrical design.
