project description: R.V. Anderson Associates Limited (RVA) provided engineering services for the design, tendering, construction inspection, start-up and commissioning of upgrades to the thinners transfer system associated with the paint line at this heavy equipment manufacturing facility. The existing system was modified by relocating the thinners transfer pump to a heated enclosure outside the plant incorporating an automatic CO2 & fire extinguishing system, providing a fail-safe system for transfer pump shutoff based on high liquid level in the thinners day tank, and providing secondary containment for the area around the day tank. The entire system was designed around a PLC-based monitoring and control system programmed by RVA for added security.
