A devastating fire in April 2000 destroyed the existing construction material manufacturing plant and administrative offices. R.V. Anderson Associates Limited (RVA) was retained to provide a complete new facility design brief (sited on the previous building footprint), including site planning, regulatory approvals, contract administration and construction review for the new 8,000 m² steel-framed pre-cast concrete clad facility. Special design features of this project included part use of the existing building perimeter foundations, floor slab, shipping docks, on-site stormwater management, large raw material bulk storage silos, manufacturing equipment and rack storage space planning
