Dye Testing
Dye testing is a technique used to trace inflow/infiltration and exfiltration sources within storm and sanitary sewer systems. Examples of inflow/infiltration sources that may enter the sanitary sewer system under study include: roof drains, abandoned lines, and improper plumbing connections. Exfiltration sources may be identified as sewage exiting the sanitary sewer system through misaligned or broken pipe joints that find its way to storm sewer systems or other receiving streams. Additionally, dye testing is a proven technique used to prove system configuration.
