This is a 12 or 16 month co-op opportunity which will commence in May 2010.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Staff Manager of the Municipal/Urban Development Section in our Toronto office, you will provide support/assistance to more senior staff.  Anticipated activities would include the following:

• Collection of design background data from municipal record sources
• Perform field surveys and inspection of construction projects
• Assist in the preparation of design drawings and reports
• Aid in quantity calculations and drawing “take-offs” for the purpose of preparing tenders and cost estimates

Qualifications:

• A third year Civil Engineering Student, who will graduate shortly after their professional engineering year
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to work in an interactive team atmosphere
• Familiarity with Microstation and/or Autocad is beneficial
• Valid driver’s licence and use of a car is required
